methinks I should hear with indifference if a trustworthy messenger were to inform me that the sun drowned himself last night
The closure of this blog marks a tragedy.
thank you, grapez, for maintaining this wonderful blog so well for so long.
I can't bear it that you're stopping this blog! I use it with my Thoreau class, and it will be sorely missed. WHY????
I too am very sad. While I understand that maintaining this blog required quite a bit of effort, reading it often made my day. Thanks for bringing it to so us so faithfully for so long.
The entries were repeats anyway, so as long as the archives are available, you will have access.
Well done. I'm trying to be stoic. This has been such a wonderful daily pick-me-up. Nothing gold can stay . . Thank you for the time you spent to share the wonder of Nature and Thoreau.
Amen. As Thoreau himself said, Live each season as it passes; breathe the air, drink the drink, taste the fruit, and resign yourself to the influences of each.
I mourn the passing of Thoreau's Blog. I will always remember it as one of the most interesting things I've found in BlogLand...
Say it ain't so.Tom King

Are you giving it up entirely? Or, are you taking a hiatus? I have never met anyone who knows any author's work so very well, and yet, can share the bits and pieces with others that truly make it meaningful.
Oh, dang! Tragedy is a small word for this... It has been an oasis in a desert of blogs. Hopefully someone else will pick up where you left.
